Ready? Set? Go?
Due to some time constraints and work issues (mainly lots of deadlines), I’ve had to postpone producing City Head for the Melb. Fringe this year. I am still keen to produce it for next year’s Comedy Festival though; and looking back at my Lego and moppet builds, it really does seem like a waste to not do it again.
However, that brings me to a rather annoying situation. I have nothing to do. I really need to start making a new puppet. Luckily, I’ve been buying up on marionette books, but I think I’ll wait until I have some more experience with making puppets. Marionettes are extremely difficult to do/make, on top of which the materials are much harder to come by, and require a little more skill in using them. That and I think my parents will kill me if I start another project.
I am also considering starting another project, this time community-focused, for the local Australian theatre people. I’ve asked for suggestions on Theatre Australia, but so far no one has posted anything useful or practical. Hey! Got an idea? Why not start a discussion here in the comments. I’m willing to listen and collaborate with anyone on any idea they might have.
