26 May 2008 Questions
Last week, when I launched the store, I made a decision not to post a free shadow puppet pattern. The idea was that there are plenty of other free patterns on this site, some of which I’ve put the time and effort into creating; and that if I’m going to offer a shadow puppet pattern, I may as well point people to the store. (In other words, if there’s a free one, people might be less likely to then go on and buy one)
However, people are visiting the FAQ post on making shadow puppets, seeing that there’s no free one, and are either heading to the store and not buying, or simply leaving the site altogether.
So I’m asking you readers - should I put up one free shadow puppet pattern, and at the end, encourage people to buy one? Or should I just leave things the way they are?
In the meantime, good progress. Two more pages of the new template have been finished (the About page and the Gallery plus some work on that puppet design I mentioned yesterday. I hope to make one of these puppets tonight, but I’m unsure I have some of the material necessary. I may just plug on anyway.
