I just want to say thanks to all of you who voted Obama. I’ve been watching CNN all day and have just seen the news that Obama has won the electoral vote. I’m a fan of his, and if I could have voted for him I would have.
On behalf of the 80% of Aussies who wanted Obama in the White House, thanks. You think it’s only a vote for your country, but for the past two years, the rest of the world has held their breath hoping for a change in your government; now we’ve got it.
This is one of those "where were you when that happened" moments. Last few years, those moments have been bad; now we’ve got a good one.
(And yeah, that’s likely the first and last time I’ll mention US politics here unless it has to do with puppetry)

Honestly, I'm amazed at how big this is. For one thing it's about equality:
In Australia, our Indigenous people are still struggling with horrible government policies that were still in place until the 70s. Only this year, did our new prime minister apologise for those policies; we're so far behind on equality and I don't think I'll see an Indigenous Australian in the leading role in my lifetime.
But for me, it's mainly cause I like Obama, and am left-wing anyway. 
Anyway, I was just bowled over so much I had to post something.
