28 Jan 2009 On its way
Last night I worked on a new shadow puppet, and I’ll be posting the video and stuff later on (probably early tomorrow morning) cause I was tired and gave up at 4am trying to get it done for today. I also bought some great stuff to make my toy theatre tutorial, and am thinking of doing the whole thing via video instead of video and text. We’ll see, because I’m really not sure how best to set up my camera to do it. My workspace isn’t exactly designed to accomodate a tripod… anyway, I’ll think of something.
The cool thing is that with my shadow puppets, they are reversible - but up until now I simply thought the capability would mean people could remove the rods, attach them to the other side, and then use it that way. However, playing with this new puppet, I can see that with a flick of the wrist I can ‘reverse’ the direction of the puppet whilst onstage. Not sure if it applies to the other puppets too, but this one is quite adept at reversing and so I’m going to give that a try in the video and see how it turns out. It should be good.
