Puppets in Melbourne

Awesome!

I have just watched the Scrubs episode featuring Sesame St characters! This is kind of weird - several years ago, it took at least 6 months to a year to get the latest episodes from the US; now we’re about a month or so behind, sometimes even just weeks. Anyway, it’s been highly publicised on a variety of puppetry sites, so I was keen to watch it.

Actually, it’s akin to watching them on The West Wing; all that marketing for not a lot of screen time (at least in the ads for the episode it made it appear that the puppets would have a larger role… although I did enjoy the Big Bird jokes and CJ’s height). I have to admit though, even with the hype there was a lot of good stuff in the Scrubs episode and had a lot of fun with the opportunity. Although the "you’ve got a hand up your butt" joke is an old standard, it was just done really well. I even liked the soft take on the title song as background music to the ending. I’ve always been a fan of the show, and surprisingly the ep. didn’t disappoint!

And to think, I was going to leave the TV off and have a quiet evening reading

I saw it too and enjoyed it. I like both shows to begin with, but it's more like an episode of Scrubs (which it is) than anything. It's like a celebrity making a cameo on the show for two minutes. It was fun.

Yeah, it was good for a laugh; I'm still surprised that it was on so soon after it appeared in America. I guess the programmers here caught on, as there was a huge debacle when we were several seasons behind 'The West Wing'... so much so that the show was dropped by the channel and picked up by another.
