I haven’t had even a moment to look at some of this… but anyway. Kelvin has done a really good analysis of the recent Sesame St/Madoff video, taking apart the film and seeing how they edited the footage to get the puppets to do what they needed (or at least how he would do it). Over at Mouse Planet, a Disneyland blog, Sue Kruse takes a look at The Lion King and how the design works, a sort of review, but in a way that delves deeper into the bunraku and shadow puppetry. Ok, it’s more a review than anything else, but I thought it was an interesting read from a person who both knows the puppetry involved, and didn’t particularly fall head-over-heels with the show.
