3 Apr 2009 Coming along nicely, thanks
Good news is that the moppet pattern is coming along well, thanks to the time I’ve put aside for it. I’ve completed the neck, and am now in the final stages of building the skin (I have the pattern, so all that’s needed to do is to build it, add it to the body, take photos and finish this section of the ebook; then send it to testers!). I’m really glad, because both the neck and the skin have been giving me major problems.
On the other hand, I succeeded in screwing myself yesterday. I made the next section of my shadow puppet screen frame, only to discover one of the screws won’t screw in all the way. Trying to remove it meant discovering that it won’t come out either… I put it aside, but leaned it against my other screen - which I knew I shouldn’t do, because the screen’s not fully attached to the braces - and naturally both crashed and my first screen has now got a gaping hole in it. Guess that serves me right. And now I have to fix both.
So I’ll be spending much of this weekend doing both those things, and hopefully by the end of next week, once my second class with Reach Out is over, I’ll have some tutorials going.
