Puppet Productions out of business
UPDATE 21/05/09: The Puppet Productions business has been bought out by Puppetsinc.com. The new owners have reportedly (this is taken from the Puppet Prod. website) obtained the copyrights and ownership of all of the puppets made by PP. I haven’t heard any further info about what happened/is happening with previous customers who didn’t receive their orders or whether Puppetsinc will be doing anything to resolve those orders/complaints.
EDIT: To clarify and avoid confusion, whilst nothing has officially been said about the company, it is clear to me that this is just a case of the recession getting the best of a business. For those who wish to pronounce this as a dodgy company out to steal your money, please don’t, as there is simply no proof of such a thing. I don’t know how bankruptcy works in America, but my guess is that the organisation simply has its hands full trying to deal with that, let alone contact past customers and rectify any refunds (can you refund someone if you are bankrupt? I don’t know…) In any case, I just want to mention that, since new information has come to light that makes me believe that it’s simply gone bankrupt.
Although this is an American-based company, I thought it would be a good idea to mention this news because they have an online store, so even other nationalities can purchase their products, making this pertinent news for everyone. Anyway, the site is still running but there have been numerous reports on Puppets and Stuff of people having paid and not received their orders for several months. The phone number has been disconnected and emails have not been replied to; the site however is still live, with no changes or information available to potential/paying customers. It’s not confirmed whether the business actually is out of business, with one person on P&S mentioning that the company was in the process of moving to new headquarters… however, with the growing number of unhappy customers waiting for months for their orders, it seems unlikely.
If you have any info to share on the status of the company, do let the people at P&S know, I’m sure any info would be greatly appreciated by the customers.
I just went to the website to make sure the URL was correct, and yes, they are out of business folks!
