About six months ago I put up a poll asking people to vote on the next tutorial - the winner was remaking the marionette tutorial into a video post. I haven’t forgotten it; rather, I’ve been waiting for a certain opportunity to come along so that I could kill two birds with one stone. That opportunity has finally arrived, so I’ll be getting to work on this pretty soon. I’m going to make it a three part video serious: one on doing a gallows (a marionette ’stand’, for easy stringing); one on making the puppet; and one on the stringing process. I’d like to add a lot more info to the post on how to string a marionette, especially since I know a lot of questions haven’t been answered in regards to myths, diagrams and numbers of strings.

You will have to wait a little longer for all of this, as I suspect it may take me some time to produce some quality video - given that I don’t really know what I’m doing with marionettes and will be building from memory of my first one. Nevertheless, it should be fun!
