World Puppetry Day
You wouldn’t think this exists, but it does! March 21st marks the World Puppetry Day, quite literally an international event. Czech puppeteer, Petr Matasek, has written an article (pdf) for the day. Every year a notable puppeteer from around the world gets chosen to write a short piece about puppetry and the joy it brings.
As my own celebration, I posted about Taiwanese puppetry, because what better way to celebrate than by learning something new and seeing some truly amazing puppeteers at work.
For myself, I will probably be doing non-puppetry things, seeing as it’s also my sister’s birthday. So if I get the chance, I’ll simply be working on my moppet pattern, a shadow puppet, or working on the next tutorial. Or none of the above; early brunch and then a day with the family tends to derail puppetry plans.
Anyway, happy World Puppetry Day!
