Chinese shadow puppetry - from behind!
This great little video is a nice discovery: it shows a Chinese shadow puppetry performance from the puppeteer’s view. You get to see their hands and operation, everything. I think if you head to the video’s actual page on Youtube, you can find another video which shows the same performance from the audience’s POV. Watching the video, I feel somehow very bad at performing my own puppets; this puppeteer is fast! You can also tell how good the jointing is, as the limbs dangle, but still manage to move fluidly and naturally. Really, this video is a must watch…
