Fake Blood and Iphone Apps for Techies
Seems like a really weird title, but friend Stephen Dean (who runs the Ramblings of a Techie blog) has posted some really great stuff. It’s not quite puppetry related, but is really useful things. First he gives us two descriptions for making fake blood (one is even edible!) and sugar glass (fake glass!) in time for Halloween; and then he gives us two posts on Iphone apps for techies. The first has lists of apps good for gel colours, gobos, and references on lighting, calculators, remote control, meters, sound apps and other useful things. And the second has more of the same. I never wanted an Iphone until now - I’m a lighting design geek, and those apps sound useful and fun for any tech. What’s more is, they’d be extremely useful for those of us working in fringe theatre or on touring shows. Imagine how great it would be to remote control that lighting desk whilst operating a couple of glove puppets? Or turning up to a venue and calculating the correct distance to rig your lighting?
I know these are going into my bookmark file for a rainy day!
